Game Session Times
The gaming at Ancient City con will be divided into four sessions that are three hours long. There will be a one-hour break between each session. Game Masters may sign up for as many sessions as needed to run their games. Games may carry over their three-hour time slot, however they may not carry over into the next session unless scheduled to do so. These are the session times for this year:
Saturday
- Session 1 – 9:00AM – Noon
- Session 2 – 1:00PM – 4:00PM
- Session 3 – 5:00PM – 8:00PM
- Session 4 – 9:00PM – Midnight
Sunday
Pick-Up Gaming
Pick-up gaming is allowed at Ancient City Con as long as there is free table space in which to play. Make sure to check the gaming matrix to see which tables are open during each session. Please notify an Ancient City Con staff member before starting a pick-up game so that the game may be posted or announced and the table marked as “taken”. These games will not be eligible for prize support by Ancient City Con, however, pick-up game masters are free to provide their own prizes.
Playing a Game
- All games have a player maximum and seats are filled on a first-come first-served basis.
- Attendees that pre-registered have the opportunity to reserve a seat in the games of their choice on a first-come first-served basis via email through the Ancient City Con website.
- Pre-registered gamers and walk-ins should consult the gaming matrix for the table location of their chosen game. Arrive at the beginning of the session and then wait for the Game Master to begin.
- Game Masters will have a list of pre-registered players and will be able to tell you if there are available seats for that session.
- If the Game Master doesn’t show up for a scheduled session game, please notify an Ancient City Con staff member.
- If the game is cancelled or if there has been a change in the scheduling, a notice will be posted at the Registration table.
- If you have any difficulties finding an open game in which to play, please ask an Ancient City Con Staff member for help.
Prize Support
Each registered game will have certificates awarded to the top three players (usually determined by voting, number of wins, or points at the discretion of the Game Master). The Registration table will redeem each certificate for a random prize. Winners will draw numbered tokens from either the 1st , 2nd, or 3rd place bags respectively. Each numbered token corresponds to an item on the prize list. Winners may forfeit their item from the first draw in order to draw again from the same bag. The results of the second draw are final. Game masters are eligible for a random place draw for each successful game session that they run.
