Costume Contest

Effective: 01/02/08

 

1)  Please familiarize yourself with all of Ancient City Con’s Costume & Props  Rules, Policies & Procedures before entering.

 

2)  Signup for the costume contest will take place at registration where your costume/outfit and any props or weapons are subject to approval by Ancient City Con Staff members. Note: This has nothing to do with contest judging only convention rules compliance.

 

3)  Group entries are allowed. Maximum size on a group entry is 8.

 

4)  You may enter only once. Meaning you cannot be a part of a group, then change into a different individual costume, and have a friend model another costume that you made while you claim any prize.

 

5)  The costume contest will take place on Sat. August 2^nd at 4:00. Winners will be announced at 8:00.

 

6)  Cosplay or skits are not mandatory. Any music or materials for any cosplay or skit needs to be submitted by the contestant at signup. Cosplay and Skits are subject to a 3 minute time limit.

 

7)  There will not be “stand alone” judging for props. Costumes must be worn (i.e. not on a mannequin).

 

 

Judging

 

1)  At Ancient City Con, everyone gets to be a judge. All paid attendees will receive voting cards in which to vote for their favorite contestants and leave comments.

 

2)  Votes will be collected at registration in the voting box. Votes will be counted only after all contestants have presented their display.

 

3)  Ancient City Con Staff members will only vote to break any ties that occur.

 

4)  Judging will not be broken down into categories (i.e. Anime, Movie, Comic Book etc….).

 

5)  Prizes and awards will be given for First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and Best Group.

 

6)  You must be present in order to claim any placing or prizes. If not present, awards and prizes will be given to the next eligible (by highest number of votes) contestant who is present.
